A cross-chain route returns
USDT0 announced at 01:00 UTC on October 30 that USDT transfers between Ethereum and TRON were operating again. The team said its infrastructure was unaffected and described the earlier suspension as a precaution to help prevent stolen funds moving.
The pause announcement, posted at 21:27 UTC on October 29, explicitly tied the measure to the Binance incident. The two notices were approximately three hours and 32 minutes apart; that is the gap between announcements, not an independently measured outage duration.
The restoration concerns USDT0's cross-chain service. It is not a Binance announcement and does not establish that exchange withdrawals reopened. Nor should the earlier pause be described as a suspension of every USDT transfer on Ethereum or TRON.
How the route connects existing USDT networks
USDT0's Legacy Mesh documentation describes infrastructure connecting established USDT deployments through an Arbitrum hub. Ethereum and TRON retain their existing native USDT implementations rather than requiring users to migrate to replacement token contracts.
The developer guide distinguishes this system from mint-and-burn transfers: Legacy Mesh uses credits and liquidity locked or released across pools. It also describes a verification configuration requiring all three designated verifier networks—LayerZero, USDT0 and Canary—to validate messages.
These are explanations of the system's design, not an independent assessment of its security during the incident.
Why this particular route matters
In a September 23 update, USDT0 said Ethereum–TRON transfers represented more than 80% of its USDT route volume. That earlier company-reported share illustrates the route's importance to its service; it is not a measurement of activity during the pause or of total global USDT transfers.
The distinction between an available route and an available exchange account remains important. Our cross-chain risk guide explains bridge dependencies, while the Binance incident report tracks exchange-specific developments.
