News sources
Our reporting prioritizes original filings, official records, protocol documentation and attributable announcements. Sources from a party involved in a story establish what that party said; they do not independently prove every promotional claim. Credit other outlets when their original reporting or interviews contribute to a story.
Market prices
Market pages use a server-side CoinMarketCap snapshot, with CoinGecko as a backup. The table identifies the active provider, fetch time and individual observation times. Quotes are consolidated provider observations across exchanges, not executable offers on a named venue. Ticker symbols can be shared by unrelated assets; use the asset name and identifier together.
The existing market worker refreshes snapshots approximately every ten minutes. A 60-second web cache controls delivery of that snapshot; it does not turn a ten-minute observation into a real-time quote. Observations older than one hour are withheld as unavailable. Prices, volumes and market capitalization can differ between providers and exchanges.
Exchange listings
Distinguish an official listing announcement from a catalogue detection. Link the announcement source when available. A newly detected market is not proof of a confirmed launch date or worldwide availability.
Educational examples
Worked examples in the Learn library use explicit hypothetical assumptions. They are not current quotes or forecasts. Protocol documentation supplies context for mechanics; its publication is not an independent audit or endorsement.

For a disputed figure, provide the page URL, observation time, unit and supporting source through our corrections process. Read our Fact-Checking Policy for evidence standards.
