RedStone Expands Beyond Oracles With DeFi Credit and Risk Intelligence
Blockchain oracle network RedStone has launched Credora, a decentralized finance (DeFi)-native risk ratings platform designed to enhance transparency and risk assessment across lending protocols.
Announced Thursday, Credora marks RedStone’s move beyond price feeds into broader credit, collateral, and counterparty risk intelligence, following its acquisition of Credora in September.

At launch, the platform integrates with Morpho and Spark, two major DeFi lending markets, to provide dynamic risk scores and default-probability analytics accessible via API. The data enables lenders and institutions to better evaluate onchain creditworthiness and asset exposure.
RedStone co-founder Marcin Kaźmierczak called the initiative a cornerstone in building “Low-Risk DeFi,” a movement aimed at balancing yield generation with data-backed transparency and institutional-level risk controls.
From Price Feeds to Comprehensive Risk Analytics
The launch underscores a growing trend among oracle providers expanding from simple data delivery to risk evaluation and financial intelligence.
In mid-October, S&P Global Ratings and Chainlink announced a partnership to bring onchain stablecoin risk profiles, rating assets based on their ability to maintain peg stability. Similarly, both Chainlink and Pyth Network have been working with U.S. government agencies to improve transparency in economic data through onchain systems.
Blockchain security firm Hacken also joined the push for onchain risk verification this week, unveiling its Yield Audits framework — a service assessing the security and sustainability of DeFi yields, stablecoins, and
real-world asset (RWA) projects. Hacken said it aims to serve as the “credit-rating equivalent” for crypto yield instruments.
Through Credora, RedStone aggregates creditworthiness data, default probabilities, and collateral health metrics into a unified layer. Users on lending protocols like Morpho and Spark can now compare vaults and loan pools based on risk-weighted performance, a tool particularly valuable for institutional DeFi investors exploring tokenized treasuries or structured yield products.
“A new era for risk versus yield perception in DeFi is emerging,” Kaźmierczak said. “Credora helps transform how participants evaluate opportunities — not just by returns, but by risk-adjusted metrics.”
How Credora Quantifies DeFi Risk
Speaking to Cointelegraph, Kaźmierczak explained that Credora employs a combination of historical data analysis, statistical modeling, and credit simulations to measure the probability of loss within any DeFi lending pool or asset.
“This allows us to map results into standardized ratings that can be compared across very different opportunities — even versus traditional instruments,” he said.
Credora has already completed risk evaluations for Morpho and SparkLend, though these ratings won’t be visible directly within the platforms until mid-November, pending front-end integration.
By standardizing onchain credit data, RedStone aims to give both retail and institutional users a clear view of default risk, collateral exposure, and systemic dependencies — areas that remain opaque in most yield markets.
Launch Follows $20B DeFi Market Liquidation
The timing of Credora’s debut reflects rising concern over systemic fragility in DeFi after the Oct. 10 market crash, which saw over $20 billion in leveraged positions liquidated across centralized exchanges and DeFi protocols.
The incident reignited debates around transparency and risk concentration in decentralized markets, especially after Stream Finance’s $93 million loss exposed deep interconnections between DeFi lending pools and stablecoin-backed credit instruments.
Earlier this week, researchers identified $284 million in exposure across stablecoin and lending markets linked to Stream Finance — highlighting the cascading risks that can arise from opaque leverage structures.
“Until now, DeFi users have often made decisions based on APY alone,” said Sam MacPherson, co-founder of Spark. “Credora introduces clarity — helping participants understand not just how much they can earn, but
what risks they’re taking.”
