Spot Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded major inflows on Friday, underscoring a renewed wave of institutional demand for crypto exposure amid stabilizing macroeconomic conditions.
According to data from SoSoValue, spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $642.35 million in net inflows on Sept. 12, marking their fifth straight day of gains. Cumulative inflows into Bitcoin ETFs have now climbed to $56.83 billion, pushing total net assets under management (AUM) to $153.18 billion — representing roughly 6.6% of Bitcoin’s total market capitalization.

The resurgence comes after a quieter start to September, suggesting that investor sentiment is turning more positive as the crypto market stabilizes and macroeconomic conditions offer some relief. Over the past five days alone, Bitcoin ETFs have absorbed $2.34 billion in cumulative inflows.
Ether ETFs notch $405 million in daily inflows
Ethereum-based spot ETFs mirrored the bullish momentum, pulling in $405.55 million in net inflows on the same day — their fourth consecutive day of gains. Ether ETF inflows have now reached $13.36 billion overall, with net assets totaling $30.35 billion.
BlackRock’s ETHA and Fidelity’s FETH led the day, pulling in $165.56 million and $168.23 million respectively. ETHA also recorded $1.86 billion in trading volume on Friday, highlighting strong interest in Ethereum-linked products.
“Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs continue to attract significant inflows, which shows rising institutional confidence in the sector,” said Vincent Liu, chief investment officer at Taiwan-based Kronos Research. “If macro conditions remain stable, this surge could strengthen liquidity and sustain upward momentum for both assets.”
BlackRock explores tokenized ETFs
Looking beyond traditional ETFs, BlackRock is reportedly evaluating the tokenization of exchange-traded funds on blockchain networks. The asset management giant, which has already found strong success with its Bitcoin ETF offerings, is considering tokenized funds tied to real-world assets (RWAs).
