Putting the settlement figure in context
Visa said its stablecoin settlement volume had reached a $3.5 billion annualized run rate as of November 30. A run rate extrapolates activity over a shorter period; it is not a statement that Visa settled $3.5 billion over a completed year.
The company also reported more than 130 stablecoin-linked card programs across over 40 countries. Those figures describe Visa’s own business and do not measure the whole stablecoin market.
Advice does not guarantee adoption
An advisory engagement helps a business assess a use case. It does not establish that a product has launched, received regulatory approval or reduced costs in practice.
For readers assessing a proposed payment product, issuer obligations and redemption arrangements remain relevant alongside speed. Our stablecoin guide explains those distinctions.
Editor’s note: The settlement metric is identified as an annualized run rate. Unsupported claims about stablecoins replacing other payment systems have been removed.
