ARK Deepens Exposure to Bullish Following U.S. Debut
Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest is doubling down on its exposure to Bullish, the fast-growing digital asset exchange that recently made its New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) debut under the ticker BLSH.
According to trade filings released Friday, ARK purchased more than $5 million worth of Bullish shares across three of its flagship funds. The ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK) acquired 72,537 shares, while the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW) and ARK Fintech Innovation ETF (ARKF) bought 21,354 and 11,122 shares, respectively.
The latest investment follows a series of earlier purchases in October, when ARK picked up $8.27 million in Bullish stock through its ARKK and ARKW funds. The firm’s initial entry came shortly after Bullish’s $1.1 billion public listing, when ARK made an aggressive $172 million allocation across its funds — signaling strong institutional confidence in the exchange’s growth potential.

Bullish’s share price closed 1.24% higher on Friday at $50.57, rebounding from earlier volatility as the market digested the company’s expansion and growing institutional interest. The exchange, backed by Block.one and led by former NYSE president Tom Farley, has quickly positioned itself as a contender among regulated trading platforms targeting both retail and institutional traders.
Bullish Marks U.S. Entry With Licenses and Partnerships
The timing of ARK’s purchase coincided with Bullish’s official U.S. launch event in New York this week, celebrating its approval to operate across 20 U.S. states. The exchange secured both a New York BitLicense and a money transmission license, enabling it to offer spot trading services to U.S. customers.
“The energy in the room said it all — the future is Bullish,” the company wrote in a celebratory post on X (formerly Twitter).
At launch, Bullish partnered with BitGo and Nonco as its first institutional clients — a strategic move to strengthen its credibility among large market participants.

Since its global debut in 2021, Bullish has processed over $1.5 trillion in trading volume and now ranks among the top 10 exchanges by Bitcoin and Ether volume, according to recent industry data. The exchange’s entry into the U.S. marks a critical milestone in its bid to compete with established players like Coinbase, Kraken, and Gemini within a tightening regulatory landscape.
A Strategic Bet on Regulated Crypto Infrastructure
ARK’s renewed investment highlights growing institutional interest in regulated digital asset infrastructure — a theme Wood has championed as essential to the long-term adoption of cryptocurrencies. Bullish’s compliance-first model, backed by traditional financial expertise and blockchain technology, aligns closely with ARK’s thesis that the next phase of crypto growth will be led by transparent, well-regulated platforms.
With its NYSE listing, multiple state licenses, and strong institutional partnerships, Bullish is positioning itself as a bridge between traditional finance and digital assets — a space that continues to attract attention from both investors and policymakers.
