U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are showing no signs of slowing down, raking in $2.71 billion in weekly inflows as institutional demand continues to strengthen through “Uptober.”
According to data from SoSoValue, Bitcoin ETF assets under management (AUM) have now reached $158.96 billion, representing roughly 7% of Bitcoin’s total market capitalization. The strong capital inflows suggest deepening investor conviction in Bitcoin’s long-term potential, despite short-term macroeconomic volatility.

“Capital keeps flowing into BTC as allocators double down on the digital gold conviction trade,” said Vincent Liu, chief investment officer at quantitative trading firm Kronos Research. “Liquidity is building now as market momentum takes shape.”
Massive inflows dominate early week trading
The week began with a bang, as spot Bitcoin ETFs logged $1.21 billion in net inflows on Monday — the second-largest single-day total since these products launched. Strong inflows continued Tuesday, adding another $875.6 million, signaling sustained demand among institutional investors.
The surge reflects renewed optimism across markets as Bitcoin continues to consolidate above key technical levels. Analysts attribute part of the momentum to asset managers rebalancing portfolios ahead of potential Federal Reserve policy easing later this quarter.
Brief pause after Trump’s tariff remarks
Friday saw a brief pullback, with Bitcoin ETFs recording a $4.5 million net outflow after former U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed plans to impose a 100% tariff on Chinese imports if re-elected — a move that briefly rattled risk markets.
Despite the dip, BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) continued to lead the sector with $74.2 million in daily inflows and $65.26 billion in cumulative assets. Meanwhile, Fidelity’s FBTC and Grayscale’s GBTC saw outflows of $10.18 million and $19.21 million, respectively.
Liu dismissed the pullback as short-lived, saying, “Trump’s tariff threat looks more like a negotiation tactic than a policy pivot — classic pressure play. Markets may flinch short term, but smart money knows the game: macro noise, conviction unchanged.”
ETF momentum accelerates as filings flood the SEC
Investor enthusiasm for regulated crypto investment vehicles is hitting new highs. Over the past two months, 31 new crypto ETF filings have been submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) — 21 of them within just the first eight days of October.
Industry analysts say this surge could mark a turning point for digital asset adoption on Wall Street. Bloomberg’s James Seyffart noted that as of late August, nearly 100 crypto-related ETF proposals were pending SEC review, with several expected to receive decisions in the coming months.
The continued influx of capital into Bitcoin ETFs underscores the growing institutional acceptance of digital assets — a trend that appears to be gaining strength even in the face of political uncertainty and global economic headwinds.
