Bitcoin’s record-breaking rally shows no signs of slowing down, with several top market analysts forecasting that the world’s largest cryptocurrency could soon blast past the $150,000 mark.

After briefly touching a new all-time high of $125,700 on Sunday, Bitcoin (BTC) appears to have entered a new phase of price discovery — one that many analysts believe could extend deep into the fourth quarter.

Crypto strategist CrediBULL Crypto said that Bitcoin’s recent impulsive breakout signaled “the next leg to $150K+ has begun.” While he noted that a short-term correction could bring BTC back to the $108,000–$118,000 range, he added that such dips would likely be short-lived buying opportunities.

“Dips into that zone are a blessing if we get them — and if not, then enjoy the ride to $150K+,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Veteran trader Crypto Chase agreed, observing that the latest rally is being driven by organic demand rather than speculative leverage:

“A new leg up seems likely. If Bitcoin remains this strong, any pullbacks will be minor at best.”

Meanwhile, whale trader James Wynn said Bitcoin has finally entered “price discovery mode” after months of consolidation. “It’s taken a long time due to price suppression, but the breakout is real,” he added.

According to TradingView, Bitcoin also recorded its highest weekly close in history at $123,543, a strong technical signal suggesting renewed bullish momentum.

US Government Shutdown and Dollar Weakness Boost Bitcoin Demand

Part of Bitcoin’s 11% weekly surge can be attributed to macroeconomic turbulence — particularly the U.S. government shutdown that began on Oct. 1.

Jeff Mei, COO at crypto exchange BTSE, told Cointelegraph that the shutdown, combined with fiscal uncertainty, may have encouraged investors to seek shelter in Bitcoin as a “safe-haven asset.”

“With the dollar weakening and interest rates expected to fall further, investors are diversifying away from Treasurys into alternative assets like Bitcoin,” Mei explained.

Indeed, the U.S. Dollar Index (DXY) has dropped over 12% since the beginning of 2025, marking its worst year in decades. As the dollar’s purchasing power weakens, Bitcoin’s appeal as a decentralized hedge against fiat depreciation is once again coming into focus.

ETF Inflows Take Center Stage

Analysts agree that the latest rally has been heavily influenced by massive spot Bitcoin ETF inflows.

Will Clemente, co-founder of Reflexivity Research, noted that this surge was not fueled by retail traders or corporate treasuries, but by institutional ETF buyers reallocating capital from traditional markets into Bitcoin.

“It wasn’t driven by leverage or degens — it was driven by spot ETF demand, likely from macro funds rotating out of commodities and small caps,” Clemente said.

Nova Dius President Nate Geraci reported that U.S. Bitcoin ETFs saw $3.2 billion in inflows last week, their second-best performance since launch. Bloomberg’s Eric Balchunas added that cumulative inflows for the year have surpassed $24 billion, underscoring the growing institutional appetite for Bitcoin exposure.

Fourth-Quarter Tailwinds Could Drive Another Rally

Historically, the fourth quarter has been one of Bitcoin’s strongest periods. Data from CoinGlass shows BTC has posted gains in eight of the last twelve Q4s and ten of the past twelve Octobers — a seasonal trend that traders call “Uptober.”

Crypto analyst Michaël van de Poppe emphasized how quickly momentum is building:

“It’s incredibly strong that we go from $110K to $125K in a single week,” he said.

Earlier this month, Capriole Investments founder Charles Edwards predicted that Bitcoin’s clean breakout above $120,000 would likely result in “a very quick move to $150,000.”

With institutional inflows rising, exchange reserves hitting multi-year lows, and macro conditions aligning in Bitcoin’s favor, the stage may be set for another explosive rally before the end of 2025.
