Bitcoin ETF inflows pick up as selling pressure shows signs of easing

US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds are showing early signs of stabilization after weeks of heavy selling, with fresh inflows suggesting institutional appetite may be finding its footing again.

Data from SoSoValue and CoinGecko shows US-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $371 million in net inflows last Friday, followed by another $145 million on Monday, as Bitcoin hovered near the $70,000 level. While the rebound remains modest, it marks a notable shift after persistent outflows earlier in the year.

The recent inflows have not yet offset last week’s $318 million in net withdrawals or the roughly $1.9 billion in redemptions recorded year to date. Still, analysts say the pace of outflows has slowed meaningfully. CoinShares head of research James Butterfill noted that historically, such deceleration in fund losses has often preceded broader trend reversals in crypto investment products.

ETF flows cool as early investors hold steady

Despite the growing role of institutional capital through ETFs, long-term Bitcoin holders are not rushing for the exits, according to asset manager Bitwise. The recent pullback, which pushed Bitcoin back toward price levels last seen in late 2024, has been driven more by profit-taking than outright capitulation.

Bernstein analysts have described the current downturn as the weakest bearish phase Bitcoin has seen, pointing to the absence of major industry failures or systemic stress. Some market participants have blamed volatility on Bitcoin’s increasing financialization, arguing that ETF adoption could dilute its scarcity narrative.

Bitwise chief investment officer Matt Hougan pushed back on that view, saying early adopters are largely staying invested. While some long-time holders have trimmed positions after outsized gains, most are not exiting

entirely. Instead, Hougan said, they are being joined by new institutional buyers rather than replaced by them.

Broader crypto ETF market sees selective inflows

The cautious improvement in Bitcoin ETF flows was echoed across parts of the broader crypto ETF market. Spot Ether ETFs recorded roughly $57 million in inflows on Monday, while XRP-linked products added about $6.3

million, according to SoSoValue data.

Together, the figures suggest that while investor sentiment remains fragile, capital is beginning to re-enter select crypto products as selling pressure cools.
