The company behind the Donald Trump-linked memecoin is reportedly preparing a major comeback move after its token’s dramatic 90% decline from peak value. Fight Fight Fight, the issuer of the official Trump ($TRUMP) token, is in advanced talks to acquire the U.S. operations of investment platform Republic.com, according to a Bloomberg report citing people familiar with the discussions.
If the deal goes through, it could mark a pivotal moment for both platforms. Republic’s vast network of retail and accredited investors — spanning over 3,000 fundraising campaigns — could soon gain access to transact using the Trump memecoin, potentially integrating it as a new fundraising vehicle for crypto startups. Sources say the negotiations remain confidential and involve multiple strategic partners.

Fight Fight Fight and CIC Digital, an affiliate of The Trump Organization, jointly control roughly 80% of the Trump memecoin supply. The acquisition would also strengthen their ecosystem by bringing Republic’s blockchain-based investment infrastructure into the fold. Republic is backed by heavyweight investors such as Galaxy Digital and Binance Labs, both of which have shown long-term interest in real-world asset tokenization and decentralized finance solutions.
Trump Memecoin’s Meteoric Rise and Steep Fall
Launched in January ahead of Donald Trump’s second inauguration, the $TRUMP memecoin quickly became one of the year’s hottest digital assets, soaring to a staggering $9 billion market capitalization at its peak. However, the hype proved short-lived — the token has since tumbled nearly 90%, now sitting around $1.64 billion, according to CoinMarketCap data.
To reignite investor confidence, Fight Fight Fight is reportedly planning to establish a $200 million digital asset treasury fund aimed at repurchasing tokens and stabilizing market sentiment. This move is seen as part of a broader strategy to rebuild momentum around the Trump-branded crypto ecosystem.
Meanwhile, another Trump-affiliated initiative, World Liberty Financial (WLFI), announced a giveaway of 8.4 million WLFI tokens, valued at about $1.2 million, to early participants in its USD1 stablecoin loyalty program — signaling continued expansion of Trump-linked ventures in the crypto space.
Both Fight Fight Fight and Republic have so far declined to comment on the reported deal.
Coinbase Expands with $375M Echo Acquisition
The Trump memecoin issuer’s potential acquisition coincides with another major move in the onchain fundraising landscape. Earlier this week, Coinbase confirmed a $375 million acquisition of Echo, an onchain investment platform founded by prominent crypto influencer Cobie in April 2024.
Echo, designed to let communities invest collectively in private funding rounds, has rapidly gained traction — facilitating 131 deals and raising over $51 million for projects like Ethena, the synthetic dollar protocol behind the fast-growing stablecoin USDe ($USDE).
