Citi Ventures confirmed an investment in stablecoin infrastructure company BVNK on October 9, 2025. Its announcement described tools for businesses to send, receive, exchange and store stablecoins and traditional money.
The investment concerns the infrastructure used by payment providers and enterprises. It is distinct from Citi issuing its own stablecoin or guaranteeing tokens handled through BVNK.

Where BVNK fits
Citi Ventures described embedded wallets, payment management and compliance capabilities as parts of BVNK’s offering. These services aim to connect blockchain transfers with the banking and payment systems used by businesses.
The investment announcement did not disclose a transaction amount or establish a new valuation. Claims about either require separate evidence.
Adoption depends on more than settlement speed
A business evaluating stablecoin payments must consider the issuer, redemption arrangements, conversion costs and the legal entities handling each stage. A fast blockchain transfer does not necessarily mean immediate access to money in a recipient’s bank account.
Citi’s investment signals its interest in this infrastructure. Its expectations about market growth remain forecasts, and do not establish that any individual provider or token will succeed.
