Adams wrote that losing his Siemens job in July 2017 preceded a period learning Ethereum development with encouragement from Karl Floersch. His first-person account describes iterative building rather than an instantly complete product.

He created Uniswap, which became associated with automated market makers and decentralized token swaps. The project’s history records its emergence in 2018.
Why the work matters
Uniswap illustrates how a relatively focused application idea can become widely used infrastructure. Its founder’s story is separate from the risks of any particular pool or token.
